The Kite Brothers Self Initiated Project.

Both Joshua Burgess and I are working on a project called The Kite Brothers. After our (very expensive!) drone caught fire, we wondered if it would be possible to take aerial photos in a safer, less expensive way.

We decided to experiment with kites. Yes the camera / GoPro could cost a decent sum of money, but you can buy a kite from as little as £5, which is a hefty saving over a regularly-priced drone.

We decided to take the informal approach to the project, as we would be focusing heavily on social media, we’d need to create content which would be shareable and relevant to our target market and audience. Our target market is quite broad, as our project could take interest of both kite-flyers and photographers (not to mention those who live in the locations we are photographing, including London and our coastline).

Following this informal-style, we decided to call our project The Kite Brothers. Although we’re not actually brothers (duh!), it’s a simple play on the well-known Flight Brothers, who also focused on earlier traditions of flight.
